چکیده
In this study, we investigated the preconsolidation pressure (P C) of sedimentary soft rock and its relationship with brittle-ductile transition (BDT) pressure. We proposed a generalized G) suitable for both soil rock, which is defined in terms yield stress initial sediment structure under confined lateral compression. then explored digenetic effect on P G using 24 types. Next, BDT were verified compression conventional triaxial tests, respectively, red-bed Dingxi region China. Finally, discussed mechanism analyzed between two characteristic pressures given surface considered structural strength. found that was dependent strength parameters, strength, coefficient earth at rest. The findings study will have significant impact determination future studies.

The Brittle-Ductile Transition in Mixtures of Rock and Ice: Experiments at Planetary Conditions
Introduction: Mars exhibits a wide variety of landforms that are indicative of ductile flow, ranging from the viscous creep of ice-rich permafrost [1] to the glaciation of thick Martian ice sheets [2] to the surface mobility of thin debris flows [3]. All of these flow features probably contain significant amounts of dust, which for example will likely be present throughout the impact-disrupted ...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling of the Ductile-Brittle Transition
Numerical studies of the ductile-brittle transition are described that are based on incorporating physically based models of the competing fracture mechanisms into the material's constitutive relation. An elastic-viscoplastic constitutive relation for a porous plastic solid is used to model ductile fracture by the nucleation and subsequent growth of voids to coalescence. Cleavage is modeled in ...
متن کاملInfluence of phyllosilicates on fault strength in the brittle–ductile transition: insights from rock analogue experiments
Despite the fact that phyllosilicates are ubiquitous in mature fault and shear zones, little is known about the strength of phyllosilicate-bearing fault rocks under brittle–ductile transitional conditions where cataclasis and solution-transfer processes are active. In this study we explored steady-state strength behaviour of a simulated fault rock, consisting of muscovite and halite, using brin...

the study reflected in this thesis aims at finding out relationships between critical thinking (ct), and the reading sections of tofel and ielts tests. the study tries to find any relationships between the ct ability of students and their performance on reading tests of tofel and academic ielts. however, no research has ever been conducted to investigate the relationship between ct and the read...

The acoustic emission (AE) and the mechanical behavior of granite samples during triaxial compression tests have been analyzed. The size of AE events displays power-law distributions, conforming to the Gutenberg-Richter law observed for earthquakes which is characterized by the b-value. As the con ning pressure increases, the macroscopic behavior becomes more ductile. For all di erent stages of...
